Dave Berry is author of the 'Bible' of Welsh film entitled, 'Wales and Cinema - The First Hundred Years' published in 1994 by the University of Wales Press.]

The University of Glamorgan, Cardiff School of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) at the ATRiuM in historic Cardiff central, the capital city of Wales, announces on-going careers workshops for film and media students.
Open Lecture 2008: The Art of Slapstick
An illustrated talk on the comic genius of Chaplin, Keaton and Harold Lloyd to be delivered by our guest speaker; the film historian Dave Berry.
The event will take place in the auditorium (CB 205) from 3.00 to 6.00 on the 21st of February.
Dave Berry has one of the most comprehensive approaches to Early Cinema in the British Isles, with a vast knowledge of both key and obscure details about the development of cinema in Britain.
Not only this, but Dave possesses a solid general knowledge of Hollywood and as such he can give historic meaning to how British film fits into the larger picture of films and movie-making since the very beginning of this mass media.
He's lively and animated and loves his topic -- a fascinating and entertaining speaker.
The public is invited and anyone can attend this FREE lecture, supported byt the University of Glamorgan.
Please come early, seating is limited.
